More than 28,000 people attended the 33rd annual ROOTSandBLUES Music Festival over the July 25 – 27 weekend, with the Salmon Arm Folk Music Society giving the thumbs up to another successful event.
“It was a moment that captured so much of what made the weekend feel magical,” said Salmon Arm Folk Music Society.
From Friday to Sunday, exactly 28, 801 people attended the festival, with the Society adding that all festival-goers had something to enjoy, such as legendary headliners Los Lobos (Friday), Burton Cummings (Saturday) and Colin James (Sunday), artists that people could get to know, and bubbles and sand games for the younger festival-goers
Many were the moments to feel proud of the Canadian artists, but also for the chance to ‘time travel’ and hear blues greats rendered by young international artists, according to the Society.
The Artistic Director Kevin Tobin said in the statement, the event was a highlight of the summer.
“This was a festival I will remember for a long time as one of my favourites. I’m so proud of our team.” said Tobin.
The rain did hold off for the event, with warm yet comfortable temperatures.
The Salmon Arm Folk Music Society said they wish to thank everyone. From the artists and attendees, to the volunteers and technicians, sponsors and vendors, for making this festival successful and special.
Next year’s dates have been announced, with the 34th annual ROOTSandBLUES Festival July 23-26, 2026.
