The Salmon Arm RCMP presented their Quarter Two (April 1 – June 30) Mayors Report. These statistics are in comparison to the same quarter in 2024.
According to the report, these statistics are as followed:
- Auto theft, drug investigations, motor vehicle incidents and impaired driving all trended upwards
- Assaults, sexual offences, robbery, break and enters and theft from motor vehicles all trended downwards
- There was no trend change in homicides or fatal motor vehicle collisions which remained at zero.
- Files involving negative contact with youth have increased this quarter.
- Mental health related calls, files involving alcohol and drugs, and domestic violence files have decreased.
The report also included the number of traffic stops.
- There were 399 documented traffic stops this quarter, including charging seven prohibited drivers.
- There were 13 collisions with damages over $10,000 injury collisions or fatal collisions.
RCMP have had increased their patrols at various events at pubs this quarter to further prevents impaired driving and ensure public safety.
