Sicamous reminds public of wharf regulations ahead of long weekend

The District of Sicamous is reminding the public of their Public Wharf Regulation Bylaw ahead of Labour Day Weekend. They want to ensure that everyone can enjoy the wharf and the lake.

The rules and regulations of the bylaw include:

  • No business or commercial activities on a wharf unless the District approves it.

  • No diving, jumping or swimming within 15 metres of the wharf.

  • Don’t block or interfere with public use of the wharf.

  • No loud or disturbing noises that disrupt others’ peace.

  • Do not damage, remove or destroy any part of the wharf or its signs.

  • No littering.

  • No mooring boats overnight (10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) at or near a wharf.

  • At the Main Street Landing Wharf, boats can’t stay longer than two hours.

  • At the Finlayson Street Dock, boats can’t stay longer than 15 minutes, as it is only for active loading and unloading.

More information regarding the bylaw can be found on the District of Sicamous website.
