The City of Salmon Arm has announced their first fall curbside yard waste pickup will begin next week.
Collection is not typical to the garbage and recycling pickup, the yard waste collection takes three to five days. Residents must set their bags on the curb at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15.
The City asks that paper waste bags only be used, and to keep branches 3ft or shorter. They are also asking the public to keep bags dry to prevent the bags from ripping.
Accepted materials include leaves, grass and hedge clippings, flowers and garden plants, shrubs and weeds (non-invasive) and small branches (Bagged, not bundled). Rocks and soil will not be accepted.
