Meadows in the Sky Parkway has reopened to the summit, though there are still restrictions in place to protect visitors and fire crews working in the area.
The park had been closed due to a prescribed fire on Mount Revelstoke.
Despite the opening, there are restrictions in effect. Parks Canada is reminding visitors that there is a no-stopping zone between Caribou Cabin (Km 21) and Panorama Point (Km 24).
Cycling and walking are not allowed beyond Caribou Cabin as well. Panorama point will be closed until further notice and parking will be limited as there is no roadside parking permitted at the summit.
Parks Canada added that the Lindmark and Summit trails, above the Monashee Picnic area (Km 7.5) will remain closed until next season, along with the Eagle Knoll trail at the Summit of Mount Revelstoke.
With continuous hot and dry weather, increased fire behaviour withing the prescribed fire area is possible. Smoke, flames, crews, fire suppression equipment, structure protection and helicopters flying and water bucketing may be visible from Revelstoke throughout the fall.
