The Redburn Creek Wildfire, located north of Golden remains classified as ‘out of control’ and ‘inaccessible’ by the BC Wildfire Service.
The fire, discovered on Aug. 30, has grown to 247 hectares, with the last recording taken on Sept. 12. The suspected cause of the fire was lighting.
The BC Wildfire Service said as of last Friday, Sept. 12, the fire is located within “inoperable, steep and inaccessible terrain” where it is not safe for ground crews to work.
They added that crews and heavy equipment will be initiated if the fire grows closer to containment lines and trigger points.
