The 33-second video consists of construction vehicles and crews working on the site throughout last month. There will be a monthly construction progress timelapse posted to show progress.
The City of Revelstoke is continuing the Liquid Waste Management Plan (LWMP) to meet the current environmental regulations. The city announced that MPE and Chandos Construction design build team was selected to complete the plant’s upgrades in July.
Mayor of Revelstoke, Gary Sulz said he was pleased with the commencement and approval of the project.
“I am very grateful to our consultants and staff for their diligent work; and the Province of B.C. and Federal Government for their support; together bringing us to this stage in upgrading our sewage treatment plant,” he said in the release.
The project is estimated to cost $23.6 million. $9.8 million is being funded by a grant from the federal and provincial government through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, according to the city.
