The District of Sicamous is notifying residents of an eight-hour long power outage on Oct. 4.
BC Hydro crews will be performing critical maintenance of the transmission line serving the region.
The District said this work is essential to enhance reliability, safety and efficiency of the region’s power system. Power will be down during daytime hours.
The District and BC Hydro suggest people prepare for prolonged power outages whether is planned or not, by building an emergency kit, carry flashlights or headlights with extra batteries on-hand, have warm clothing depending on weather and have helpful items to navigate during long power-outages.
Affected residents have been contacted by BC Hydro.
