More water interruptions for Sicamous

More water interruptions will be expected this week for residents on Riverside Avenue and Temple Street as the water main replacement project takes its next big step.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, new water main valves will be installed. Water shutdown will take place on Riverside Avenue from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while Temple Street residents will experience the shutdown from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The District began their site mobilization in August. The water main on Riverside Ave is over 50 years old. The District is replacing around 270 metres of waterline, sidewalks and roadways. The waterline used to be six inches, but it will be upgraded to 10 inches.

Residents affected have been notified with door hangers and sandwich boards.

Below is a map provided by the District of properties affected by the project and will experience water interruptions.
