The Salmon Arm Silverbacks fell short of a win against the Cranbrook Bucks over the weekend.
The ‘Backs lost 2-3 in overtime after tying the game in the second period. Defenceman Cole Longacre got a powerplay goal in the first period, but the Bucks scored two goals to end the first period 1-2.
Forward Keifer Miller went on to add another point to the scoreboard, tying the game 2-2.
Both teams headed to overtime with a 2-2 tie, but the Bucks got the game winning goal, making the overall score, 2-3.
The Silverbacks head to the ice three times this week, playing three games over the Thanksgiving Long Weekend. The team will be off to the Vancouver Island to compete with the Nanaimo Clippers on Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Frank Cane Arena.
Then, the team will play the Victoria Grizzlies on Sunday morning, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m., and then Powell River Kinds on Monday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. Both matches will be showcases at the Abbotsford Centre.
