Halloween events to attend throughout October

For Halloween lovers in the Shuswap area there are many family-friendly and festive events throughout October that begin as early as this long weekend.

Starting in Notch Hill, the annual Fall Harvest Festival and Haunted Pumpkin Patch is back for the fourth time around this Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the N.H Community Park in Sorrento. Visitors can paint pumpkins, buy from local vendors, and tour their spooky basement.

In Salmon Arm, the Apple Festival is back at the Ross Street Plaza on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to support the Shuswap orchards. There, people can bring their own apples and have them juiced, and also experience apple tasting.

The Magic in the Maze event is taking place in Armstrong this weekend on Oct. 11, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. where pumpkins and scavenger hunts and animals will be the highlight of the event at the Pink Pumpkin Farm.

The Sicamous Witches Paddle will kickoff at the Sicamous Beach Park on Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. Food and cash donations will go towards the Eagle Valley Community Support Society. Witches and warlocks will paddle from the beach park to Moose’s Pub.

Later on in October, the Chase Festival Society will be hosting their first “HalloWeek” where nine events will happen starting Oct. 24 until Nov. 1. From a monster mash to a cemetery tour, there are thrilling and fun events for everyone to attend.
