A single-vehicle collision that knocked out power along Highway 97A near Marvyn Road prompted a response from Sicamous RCMP and Fire Rescue on Jan. 4.
Police said a Ford F-350 lost control, struck a hydro pole and rolled onto its roof in a ditch. Sicamous Fire Rescue helped remove the driver after BC Hydro confirmed the area was safe, as power lines were downed.
“The driver was transported to hospital in Vernon with non life threatening injuries,” Sicamous RCMP Sgt. Murray McNeil said.
Police said they noted that the roads were slippery at the time of the incident.
BC Hydro worked to replace the damaged pole which resulted in a lengthy power outage.
