Man found dead during home showing in Salmon Arm

Police attended to a residence where a man was found dead in a Salmon Arm home during a scheduled tour.

Salmon Arm RCMP  spoke with a realtor who said they arrived at the property for a scheduled house showing for a potential buyer.

“The realtor knocked on the door and did not get an answer. The realtor used her key to enter the residence and began showing the residence,” Cst. Andrew Hodges, spokesperson for the Salmon Arm RCMP said. “The realtor and client went into the bedroom and found a man believed to be asleep.”

Police said the realtor and client exited the residence, and the realtor contacted the listing agent to try and get a hold of the property owner.

The listing agent was unable to reach the property owner, so the realtor entered the home again to wake the property owner and found they were not asleep but deceased.

“There were no signs of violence, and nothing suspicious,” Hodges continued.

Police said owner was believed to have died of natural causes and the matter was referred to the Coroners Service.
