Theft, break and enter leads to arrest

A woman used her home security system to report a man inside her house.

Police said she provided a detailed description of the suspect and the item he allegedly stole. Officers nearby located a man matching that description walking on 10th Avenue SW.

The 46-year-old was also carrying an item believed to be the stolen property. He was arrested for theft and break and enter.

“The man told police he would not agree to any release conditions and wished to go to jail,” said Const. Andrew Hodges, a spokesperson for the Salmon Arm RCMP.

He is scheduled to appear in court later this week.
