City of Salmon Arm announce new roundabout coming town

Construction of a new roundabout at Salmon Arm’s 30 Street NE and 11 Avenue NE is moving ahead, designed to improve traffic flow, safety and long-term reliability in the area.

The City of Salmon Arm announced the project on social media, saying work will begin this week in the Setters Pub parking lot, which will be reconfigured to accommodate construction.

“To meet environmental timelines, some trees in the area will be removed this week, ahead of bird nesting season,” the announcement stated.

Residents can expect full construction to begin in early May and continue until September, along with disruptions and alternate routes.

The city said local businesses in the area will remain open and will be ready to welcome customers throughout construction.

“This is part of a broader effort to prepare the area for future growth and improve how traffic moves through the corridor. Roundabouts are designed to reduce delays, improve safety, and keep vehicles moving more efficiently,” the city said.

More maps and updates will be shared as the project progresses, including information on how to navigate the roundabout and access local businesses during construction.
