Salmon Arm Silverbacks season ends at Game 7

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks’ season came to an end with a 4-2 loss to the Cranbrook Bucks in Game 7 of the BCHL playoffs.

The game began on a promising note when Silverbacks forward Jared Rothman tied it shortly after the Bucks opened the scoring in the first period. The Silverbacks generated several close chances but fell short.

The Bucks regained the lead with a quick goal in the third period. Late in the game, the Silverbacks pulled their goalie in an attempt to stay alive with the extra attacker.

After losing the faceoff, the Bucks gained possession and scored into the empty net to make it 3-1. They added another empty-net goal soon after to extend the lead to 4-1.

The Silverbacks responded with their final goal of the season, scored by Luke Lepper. The goal energized the team and fans, but there was not enough time to complete the comeback.

The Silverbacks lost 4-2, ending their 2025-26 season.

In a social media post, the Silverbacks thanked billet families for their support of the players.

“To our volunteers and game night staff, thank you for showing up and making every night run seamlessly,” the post read. “Thank you to our corporate sponsors for your continued support of our organization. And to our fans, thank you for showing up, bringing the energy, and supporting us all season long.”

The Bucks advance to the third round of the playoffs, where they will face the Brooks Bandits.
