CSRD Parks and Recreation Plan events begin this week

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) Parks and Recreation community engagement events begin this week, with residents invited to share their views.

In a statement, the CSRD said the plan will guide long-term planning, decision-making and investment in parks and recreation services across electoral areas A, C, D, E, F and G.

The Sicamous and Malakwa communities were invited to attend a pop-up event today at the Sicamous and District Recreation Centre, as well as an open house at Malakwa Community Park.

On June 9, Swansea Point will host an open house at the community hall from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

On June 10, an open house will be held at Falkland Community Hall from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

More events will begin June 15.

The regional district said community input will play a central role in shaping the plan. The CSRD is hosting a variety of engagement opportunities, including open houses and pop-up events.

Residents who cannot attend the events can complete a parks and recreation survey to share their priorities. The survey closes July 17, 2026.

For information on upcoming events in the various electoral areas, visit the CSRD website.
