Missing body recovered from Mara Lake

The Sicamous RCMP said the body of a missing boater had been recovered from Mara Lake.

On Tuesday, July 14, the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, with support from the RCMP National Underwater Recovery Training Centre, located and recovered the man’s body from Mara Lake.

“While this is a tragic outcome, we hope the recovery of the missing man brings some closure to his family and friends. Our thoughts remain with them during this difficult time,” Sgt. Murray McNeil of the Sicamous RCMP said.

McNeil thanked the Underwater Recovery Team, the RCMP National Underwater Recovery Training Centre, search-and-rescue volunteers and all partner agencies for their efforts throughout the operation.
