She Shoe Swaps breaks fundraising record this year

She Shoe Swaps has broken its fundraising record, bringing in more than $23,000 for three Salmon Arm charities.

The 15th annual fundraiser was held Sept. 19 at the Salmon Arm Rec Centre, raising $23,251.21 for the SAFE Society, Salmon Arm Rescue Unit and Rosemarie’s Fund at the Shuswap Community Foundation.

The total surpassed the previous record of $22,330 set in 2025.

Organizer Kathryn Vennard said 106 women were lined up before the doors opened, with more than 400 shoppers coming through during the day.

She Shoe Swaps sells donated new and gently used shoes, boots and bags to raise money for local charities.

The fundraiser began in 2012, when it raised $1,518.

Since 2023, the event has raised more than $20,000 each year.
