The District of Sicamous will be moving on to the next phase of their Riverside Avenue watermain replacement project.
This phase will replace 270 metres of waterline, sidewalk and roadway between Martin St. and Temple St. Site mobilization is scheduled for Aug. 28 and 29, and construction will begin on Sept. 2.
The District said this is a critical infrastructure upgrade, including the replacement of the 50-year-old watermain. The existing 6-inch waterline will be upgraded to a 10-inch line, which aims to improve reliability and fire flow for the community.
Efforts will be made to minimize the impact on both vehicle and pedestrian traffic along Riverside Ave. The contractor will ensure that customers and employees’ access to businesses is maintained.
