Southeast District ERT assist with apprehension in Chase

Police responded to a family home located on Squilax Anglemont Rd in Chase yesterday afternoon, Aug. 24,  after an adult member of the family threatened to harm other family members.

The Southeast District Emergency Response Team (SED ERT) assisted frontline officers due to the 32-year-old Chase man threatening to use a weapon.

When police arrived, the man swam to a platform in the middle of the lake, where officers travelled by boat to safely apprehend him.

It’s believed he was suffering from mental health concerns, and he was taken to hospital.

The investigation is still ongoing.
