Starting Thursday, Aug. 28 at 12:00 p.m., the Category 1 Campfire Ban will be in effect in Salmon Arm.
This means no campfires of any size will be permitted, as well as burn barrels or burn cages, chimineas or tiki torches, sky lanterns and fireworks.
However, certified gas or propane cooking stoves are allowed.
