A Sorrento man is on his way to full recovery after he was rescued by fire crews from a residence that was engulfed in flames early morning on Saturday, Sept. 20. 

The Mount Hunter Trail is now open to the public after being closed during the Porcupine Valley Prescribed Fire in Yoho National Park.

The Redburn Creek Wildfire, located north of Golden, B.C. has remained classified as 'out of control' and 'inaccessible' by the BC Wildfire Service.

Meadows in the Sky Parkway has reopened to the summit, though there are still restrictions in place to protect visitors and fire crews working in the area.

Fire crews are continuing to extinguish priority areas, remove danger trees near trails and Parkway Rd. as they've completed the helicopter ignition on Mount Revelstoke over the weekend.

Fire management specialists plan to take advantage of a whole burning day on Sept. 5. on Mount Revelstoke. Parks Canada said their previous fire operations from the past two days were successful.

The Meadows in the Sky Parkway and trails above Columbia Viewpoint will be closed until Friday due to a prescribed fire in the area.

A wildfire, approximately 28km north of the Seymour Arm in Cayenne Creek, has been classified out of control.

The Porcupine Valley fire unit is preparing for a prescribed fire in the Porcupine Valley of Yoho National Park, northwest of the Trans-Canada Highway, and approximately 17km southwest of Field, B.C.
