Police received a report of a man carrying a rifle last week, but it turned out to be a pellet gun.
A man was seen walking along Garret Road holding what appeared to be a rifle on Jan. 17 at approximately 2 p.m. Officers confirmed the firearm was a pellet gun that “closely resembled” a rifle when they arrived on scene, according to Const. Sarah Van Wilgenburg.
Police warned the man about carrying a replica firearm in public, saying responsible handling is key to preventing harmful incidents in the future.
