Hockey teams ‘heartbroken’ over loss of three young Albertan players

Many local hockey teams are mourning the loss of three, junior players who were involved in the fatal motor-vehicle accident that took place on Feb. 2, in Calgary, Alta.

JJ Wright, Caden Fine and Cameron Casorso all played for the Southern Alberta Mustangs junior hockey team. Wright and Casorso were 18 years old and Fine was 17.

They were heading to practice in a small passenger vehicle when a truck hauling gravel collided with them.

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks said they “extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, teammates and all those impacted by the tragic loss of the Southern Alberta Mustangs players.”

A GoFundMe is available for those interested donating to help mitigate the financial burden of travel, funeral costs and daily expense of the players families.
