Will the Bruhn Bridge be open this long weekend?

The District of Sicamous said Highway 1 traffic through the R.W. Bruhn Bridge project will remain open over the May long weekend.

The district said the highway will reopen at noon Friday, May 15, and remain open until noon Tuesday, May 19.

Pedestrian access to Beach Park through the walkway beneath the bridge will also reopen for the season at noon Friday.

The district said no scheduled closures of the Sicamous Narrows are planned until late fall 2026, although short-term traffic holds of up to 10 minutes may occur during working hours.

Drivers heading to the Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail and Sicamous Beach are asked to slow down and avoid active construction areas.

Current highway conditions and project updates are available through DriveBC.
