Rider dies following off-roading incident

A man has died after an off-road utility vehicle crash near Adams Lake.

On Saturday, Oct. 31, Shuswap Search and Rescue (SAR) deployed its rope team to assist Chase RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services (BCHES) in reaching two injured UTV riders.

Officials said the riders and their vehicles tumbled down a steep embankment.

BCHES transferred one rider to the hospital by helicopter for medical treatment, however, the other rider succumbed to his injuries.

“Our condolences to his family and friends,” Shuswap SAR said in its social media post.

Shuswap SAR surged the public to call 9-1-1 if help is needed.
