New highway interchange in Chase, opening up in a few days

The Village of Chase has announced a long-awaited interchange for Highway 1- creating easy and new access for locals.

The new interchange includes Highway 1 on-and-off ramps, a roundabout on Brooke Drive, and pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure. The Village said this will allow for safer and more effective access between Chase and Highway 1.

The roundabout aims to allow traffic to flow while accommodating large transport trucks, boat trailers, and RVs.

“Roundabouts are also proven to reduce noise pollution and improve traffic efficiency,” the Village stated.

They added that the completion of the Brooke Drive interchange marks a significant milestone, as it is one of the last remaining critical project features.

More information on this project can be found on the Ministry of Transportation and Transit page.
