Respiratory virus outbreak declared at Salmon Arm nursing home

Interior Health (IH) has declared an outbreak of Influenza A at Bastion Place in Salmon Arm as of Dec. 31, 2025.

Multiple Interior Health facilities are dealing with viral outbreaks, including Influenza A, norovirus, metapneumovirus and a gastrointestinal virus.

According to the IH Health Facility Disease Outbreak list, the “entire facility” is affected, and the virus is not contained in any specific area in the building.

IH said once the outbreak is over, the location will be removed from the list.

Other facilities facing outbreaks are Kamloops, Kelowna, Vernon and the 100 Mile House. For now, it is advised to reschedule any visits to the affected facilities.
