Annual Community Cleanup Challenge returning to Enderby

The City of Enderby is calling on residents of all ages to join the 14th annual Our Enderby Clean-Up Challenge, aimed at keeping parks, streets and public spaces enjoyable for all.

The city described the challenge as a collaborative effort supported by several local partners. Once the work is finished, volunteers will receive a free appreciation barbecue provided by the Enderby and District Lions Club.

“This event captures the heart of what makes Enderby special,” Mayor Huck Galbraith said. “It’s not just about picking up litter.  It’s about showing pride in where we live and setting an example for our kids. When we show up for each other and for our shared spaces, we create a deeper sense of community.”

The city’s FireSmart booth will also be on site to offer advice on protecting homes from wildfire risks, along with resources and free items for residents.

The Lions Club will also host its shredding event by donation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Enderby & District Financial parking lot. The event provides businesses and residents with a secure way to dispose of sensitive documents while supporting a local cause.

“Whether you are a long-time resident, new to the community, or part of a local sports team or other community organization, this is an opportunity to get involved and connect with your neighbours,” the City said.

The event takes place Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Volunteers are asked to gather at the city hall parking lot at George Street and Mill Avenue, where coffee and snacks will be provided.
