Closure for Sicamous Narrows postponed

The closure of the Sicamous Narrows scheduled for today has been postponed.

The District of Sicamous made the announcement online and said the closure will now take place April 16 or the next day, depending on conditions.

The closure will begin at 8 a.m. and continue for about eight hours or until the girder is successfully bolted.

Overwater girder installation is scheduled from mid-April to mid-May. The work will require closing the Sicamous Narrows under the R.W. Bruhn Bridge and at the Finlayson Street boat launch.

The next scheduled closure is April 19.
