Watermain flushing extended for Sorrento

Flushing of the Sorrento Water System has been extended until May 14.

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District announced at about 2:30 p.m. Monday that residents should not consume turbid water.

The CSRD said that if tap water is discoloured, residents should run the cold-water tap for a few minutes until the water runs clear.

If the water does not clear after 20 minutes, residents are asked to call 250-832-8194.

A water quality advisory will remain in place until Interior Health confirms through testing that the water is safe to drink.
