Shuswap residents encouraged to complete housing survey

The Rural Shuswap Housing Society is calling on residents across Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) electoral areas C, D, F and G to participate in a community housing survey to help shape the future of housing in the region.

While the survey is open to everyone, the Rural Shuswap Housing Society is encouraging youth and young adults to participate.

The survey is designed to better understand the housing experiences and needs of people living throughout the Rural Shuswap.

In a statement, society officials said youth are the future of local communities. However, many are facing financial challenges related to housing costs and limited housing options.

They said these issues affect not only individuals and families but also local businesses, employers, schools and the long-term sustainability of the community.

People who are thinking about buying a home, renting, living with their parents or moving are encouraged to participate in the survey to help provide a clearer picture of what housing solutions should look like.

The survey is available online on the Rural Shuswap Housing Society’s website.
