Illicit drugs, cash and BB gun found during traffic stop in Salmon Arm

Illicit drugs, unidentified pills and firearm ammunition were among the items seized during a traffic stop in Salmon Arm, B.C., last week that led to several arrests.

Salmon Arm RCMP stopped a vehicle on Lakeshore Drive to conduct a sobriety and driver’s licence check.

Police said officers saw unstamped cigarettes on the passenger’s lap. All occupants were removed from the vehicle and arrested under the Excise Act.

Police said a search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded imitation BB gun with pellets, a scale, $360 in cash, prepackaged illicit drugs, unidentified pills and firearm ammunition.

Police said all occupants were later released at the scene without process.

RCMP said investigators will continue gathering evidence before submitting the file for charge assessment.
