Watermain flushing will take place on the system from Wednesday, April 22 to Friday, April 24 in Cedar Heights.
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) announced on social media that flushing will occur from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
As part of the CSRD’s annual maintenance program, crews use fire hydrants to flush water and remove accumulated sediment from distribution piping systems.
The CSRD said flushing may result in reduced pressure and discolouration of the water, adding this is generally temporary and clears within a short period.
Due to potential health risk factors from increased turbidity, a water quality advisory will be in place during the flushing.
Residents are advised not to consume coloured or turbid water. If water is discoloured, run the cold tap for a few minutes until it runs clear.
If the water has not cleared after 20 minutes, call 250-832-8194.
