Three people arrested following weekend shooting in Salmon Arm

Three people have been arrested following a weekend shooting in Salmon Arm.

Salmon Arm RCMP said officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of Fraser Avenue NW at about 5:21 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Police said they were told a man had been shot and had made his way to a nearby business for help.

The suspects reportedly fled in a white pickup truck, police said.

Officers found the injured man, whose injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening. He was taken to hospital.

Police said investigators identified a suspect and a vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting. They believe the incident was targeted and isolated.

The vehicle was later found at a residence in Sicamous, where police contained the area.

Police said officers, assisted by the Southeast District Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services, searched the residence and arrested three suspects without incident.

“This was a coordinated effort involving multiple policing units that resulted in the timely identification and arrest of the suspects,” Sgt. Simon Scott of the Salmon Arm RCMP said.

“While arrests have been made, the investigation remains ongoing and further details cannot be released at this time.”

Police said investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Anyone with information, including CCTV or dash camera video, who has not spoken with investigators is asked to contact Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-832-6044.
