Salmon Arm residents are being encouraged to support local restaurants as ChamBURGER Month returns, featuring 13 businesses serving up their own specialty burgers.
Organized by the Salmon Arm Chamber of Commerce, the month-long initiative invites residents and visitors to sample specially crafted burgers at participating restaurants until Oct. 31.
Locals are invited to be the judge and vote for their favourite burgers at participating restaurants.
Participating restaurants include Ambrosia Grill Taverna, Barley Station Brew Pub, Boston Pizza, B’s Eatery & Public House, Cahoots, Canooligans Lake Lounge & Eatery, Cantina Vallarta, Hideaway Public House, Jane’s Place, Setters Neighbourhood Pub & Liquor Store, The Nom Shuswap, The Peppercorn Club by Rangoli and Westgate Cafe Breakfast & Bakery.
Christine Jontz-Barbour, executive director of the Salmon Arm Chamber of Commerce, said ChamBURGER month means more than just burgers.
“It’s about getting people through the doors of our local restaurants, encouraging them to try somewhere new, and having a little fun while supporting our business community,” she said.
“Our restaurants contribute so much to Salmon Arm, and this is a great opportunity to show them some love.”
Throughout October, residents and visitors are encouraged to visit participating restaurants, try their featured ChamBURGERS, and vote for their favourites in three categories, including “Best Tasting Burger”, “Most Unique Burger” and “Best Presentation”.
Voters can also enter a draw to win one of three $100 gift cards, providing more opportunity to support local businesses.
“We’re incredibly appreciative of Rooke Construction for creating and supporting ChamBURGER Month,” Jontz-Barbour added. “It’s a great example of what can happen when local businesses and community organizations work together to create something that benefits others.”
Presented by the Chamber of Commerce and created and sponsored by Rooke
Construction, this non-profit initiative is designed to encourage people to try something new and support the city’s restaurant industry.
