What’s the beef? Woman hopes to press charges after being thrown out of restaurant

A 51-year-old woman who wanted to pursue assault charges after being escorted out of a Salmon Arm restaurant was told police would not recommend charges.

Salmon Arm RCMP responded to a complaint involving a woman who reported being pushed out of a restaurant on Lakeshore Drive. Officers also learned of a separate disturbance report involving the same woman.

Police said the dispute began when the woman became upset over how her steak had been prepared.

“The woman became irate and began telling and swearing at an employee, which resulted in the woman being asked to leave the restaurant,” police said in a statement.

Police said the woman continued yelling at staff before another customer intervened and escorted her out by the arm.

RCMP said the woman was not injured and officers found no evidence of intent to assault her.

Police told the woman they would not recommend charges. She was also advised she was no longer welcome at the restaurant.
