Salmon Arm RCMP catch intoxicated driver in Downtown

A man is facing a 90-day driving prohibition after RCMP say he was caught driving while intoxicated in Salmon Arm.

On the evening of Dec. 22, police received a report of a possible impaired driver in a grey Toyota Tacoma stopped near Alexander Street NE.

RCMP officers located the matching vehicle described in the report leaving Alexander St. westbound on the Trans Canada Highway. Police said the vehicle turned onto Shuswap Street where they had pulled the man over after observing him driving erratically.

A breath test was conducted after the man had told police he last consumed alcohol two days ago. According to police, the man blew a “double fail”, and his car was impounded for 30 days. The man is now prohibited from operating a vehicle for 90 days.
