Growth taking off at the Shuswap Regional Airport

Interest in hangar space at the Shuswap Regional Airport continues to grow following recent infrastructure upgrades, a strong signal of aviation improvement and hangar development interest in the region.

“With the completion of Taxiway Charlie and subsequent legal surveys, additional space is now available for airside hangar development,” the directors of operation of the Shuswap Regional Airport stated in their report.

The City of Salmon Arm made an announcement about the recent improvements which include runway paving, LED lighting upgrades, fuel facility enhancements and taxiway development.

“With demand increasing, new lease lot opportunities are moving forward through an upcoming Expression of Interest process to support long-term airport development,” the City of Salmon Arm stated in the post.

They continued saying the momentum reflects the airport’s expanding role in aviation growth and regional economic development.
