Salmon Arm’s first ever pride parade kicks off this weekend

Salmon Arm’s first Pride Parade is set to kick off this Saturday throughout Downtown.

The Salmon Arm Arts Centre posted on social media saying the countdown is on, noting the excitement.

They provided a parade map online so that attendees can plan their spots along the route.

“Bring your friends, your family, your flags, and your pride spirit as we make history together in Salmon Arm!” organizers said in the post.

Road closures are scheduled and will be in effect along the parade route, starting at 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

“This is more than a parade, it’s a moment for our community to come together, show support, and celebrate love, diversity and inclusion,” the organization added.

The event begins on Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m.
